Watch the Repairing A Tiny Haitian Heart video, Two year old Roberdine Faquier had a common congential heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot Constantly tired and cyanotic she had only months to live As part of a program funded and run by Inova to train Haitian doctors Dr James Baugh and Inova brought Roberdine to the U S to have her surgery performed at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children where Dr Lucas Collazo successfully performed the delicate surgery fully repairing the hole in her young heart all at no cost to Roberdine s family since both Inova and Dr Collazo donated all the necessary resources and skills Inova also brought Dr Elsie Jean a Haitian resident to observe the procedure so she could learn about it and bring the knowledge back to her native land
