VIDEO: UN Peacekeepers to leave Haiti after 13 years

Watch the video... UN Peacekeepers have lowered their flag in Haiti 13 years after entering the country. They have helped it through political crisis and natural disasters.

The official peacekeeping mission will end later this month and will be replaced by a smaller force that will focus on strengthening the judicial system.

Al Jazeera's Daniel Schweimler reports from Port-au-Prince.

ORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, Oct. 2 - Supporters of Haiti's ousted president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, threw stones and fired guns on streets littered with debris and overturned cars on Saturday in a third day of violent protests demanding Mr. Aristide's return.

At least seven people have been killed in the violence so far, including three police officers whose headless bodies were found Friday.
