Watch the Maximsnew Work Haiti Elections After Earthquake, Rains, Cholera Un Minustah video, MaximsNewsNetwork 28 November 2010 -- UN MINUSTAH Port-au-Prince, Haiti -- In Haiti today some 4.5 million people are choosing a new president as well as members of the two chambers of the parliament all in a country that has suffered a devastating earthquake, heavy rains and flooding and then a Cholera outbreak so far this year in line with the United Nations UN MINUSTAHS's mandate to ensure security, Brazilian troops were patrolling in slums areas of the capital. The incumbent president Rene Preval could not be a candidate after two mandates. Some people just crossed the square from an IDP camp to the voting center. In other parts of Port au Prince, voting started smoothly too. In Petionville Voting Center however, electoral kits were still being installed at that time and while electoral officers were still installing the ballot boxes, voters had high expectations. In Croix des Bouquets, a large area hosting many IDP camps, the chief of the UN Stabilazation mission for Haiti was confident. Moise Boursiquot is a driver.
