Clinton Was Welcomed By The Special Representative Of The Secretary-General In Haiti, Edmund Mulet And Greeted Enthusiastically By Staff Of TheUnited Nations Stabilization Mission In Haiti MINUSTAH. In His Speech, He Thanked The Mission Staff For Their Work, Acknowledging The Complexities Of The Job And Said That Despite Difficulties We Are Getting There And We Will Get There. An Estimated 230000 People Died From The Earthquake And Haiti Still Struggles To Properly Feed And Shelter 1.3 Million Survivors Who Lost Their Homes. The Former US President Said That The Practical Problems Associated With The Aftermath Of This Earthquake, Including And The Oncoming Rainy Season, Are Staggering. He Stated That His Goal Was To Help The People Of Haiti Become What They Have Always Been Capable Of Becoming But Never Had A Chance To Become And Insisted That This Is Their Best Chance, Even In Spite Of This Horrible Earthquake. Clinton Was Appointed Special Envoy To Haiti Last Year, And Was Tapped Together With His Successor, President George W.
